Musnad Ahmad 1153:1529

'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, he said: Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from Abu al-Zahiriyah, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, he said: I entered upon 'Aishah, and she said: "Do you recite Surah al-Ma'idah?" I said: "Yes." She said: "For it is the last surah that was revealed. So whatever you find in it of lawful, deem it lawful; and whatever you find in it of unlawful, deem it unlawful." And I asked her about the character of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and she said: "The Qur'an."
