'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, he said: Za'idah narrated to us, from Sadaqah, a man from the people of Kufa, he said: Jami' ibn 'Umayr, one of the Banu Taym Allah ibn Tha'labah, narrated to us, he said: I entered with my mother and my maternal aunt upon 'A'ishah. One of them asked her: "How did you used to do during the ritual bath (ghusl)?" 'A'ishah said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to perform his ablution (wudu) for prayer, then he would pour water over his head three times." "And we used to pour over our heads five times because of the braids."
