Hadith 1153:1604

Yahya narrated to us, from Hisham, who said: My father informed me, from Aisha; and Waki’ said: Hisham narrated to us, from his father, from Aisha, that Fatima bint Abi Hubaysh came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "I experience *istihada* (prolonged non-menstrual bleeding) and do not become pure; should I abandon the prayer?" Waki’ said: He said: "No." Yahya said: "That is not menstruation; that is only a vein. So when the menstruation arrives, abandon the prayer, and when it departs, wash the blood from yourself and pray." Yahya said: I said to Hisham: "One washing? Does she perform ghusl and wudu for every prayer?" He said: "Yes."

حدثنا يحيى، عن هشام، قال: أخبرني أبي، عن عائشة، ووكيع قال: حدثنا هشام، عن أبيه، عن عائشة، أن فاطمة بنت أبي حبيش جاءت إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقالت: إني أستحاض فلا أطهر، أفأدع الصلاة؟ قال وكيع: قال: " لا "، قال يحيى: " ليس ذلك بالحيض، إنما ذلك عرق، فإذا أقبلت الحيضة، فدعي الصلاة، فإذا أدبرت فاغسلي عنك الدم، وصلي " قال يحيى: قلت لهشام أغسل واحد، تغتسل وتوضأ عند كل صلاة؟ قال: نعم . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
