Musnad Ahmad 1153:1683

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Shu’bah narrated to us, from Sa’d ibn Ibrahim, from ‘Urwah, from ‘Aishah, she said: I used to hear that a prophet does not die until he is given the choice between the world and the Hereafter. She said: Then a hoarseness afflicted him in his illness in which he died, and I heard him saying: "With those upon whom Allah has bestowed favor among the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous; and excellent are those as companions." So I thought that he had been given the choice.
