Musnad Ahmad 1153:1713

Waki’ narrated to us, Talha ibn Yahya narrated to us, from his paternal aunt Aisha bint Talha, and Ibn Numayr, from Talha, who said: Aisha bint Talha informed me—the meaning being from Aisha, the Mother of the Believers—she said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, entered upon me one day and said: "Do you have anything?" We said: "No." He said: "Then I am fasting." Then he came another day—Ibn Numayr said: "After that"—and we said: "O Messenger of Allah, some *hays* (a dish of dates, ghee, and dried yogurt) was gifted to us, and we have hidden some of it for you." He said: "Bring it near, for I woke up fasting," and he ate.
