'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Amr narrated to us, he said: 'Ali narrated to us, from Yahya, he said: Abu Qilabah narrated to me, that 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Shaybah, the keeper of the House (the Ka'bah), informed him that 'Aisha informed him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was struck by pain, so he began to complain and toss and turn on his bed. 'Aisha said to him: "If one of us had done this, you would have been angry with them." He said: "Indeed, the believers are dealt with severely. For there is no believer who is afflicted by a calamity, a thorn, or pain, except that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, raises him a degree by it and removes a sin from him by it."
