Musnad Ahmad 1153:1813

Isma'il narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, from 'Aishah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever loves to meet Allah the Almighty, Allah loves to meet him, and whoever hates to meet Allah the Almighty, Allah hates to meet him." 'Aishah said: "O Messenger of Allah, is hating to meet Allah [due to] hating death? For by Allah, we indeed hate it." He said: "It is not that. Rather, when the believing servant is decreed by Allah the Almighty to be taken, it is unveiled for him what is before him of the reward of Allah the Almighty and His honor. So he dies when he dies, and he loves to meet Allah the Almighty, and Allah loves to meet him. And when the disbeliever and the hypocrite are decreed by Allah the Almighty to be taken, it is unveiled for him what is before him of the punishment of Allah the Almighty and His humiliation. So he dies when he dies, and he hates to meet Allah, and Allah hates to meet him."
