Hadith 1153:1853
Hajjaj narrated to us, he said: Layth narrated to us, he said: ‘Uqayl narrated to me, from Ibn Shihab, from ‘Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from ‘Aishah, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that she said: "By Allah, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was never given a choice between two matters, except that he took the easier of the two, as long as it did not involve sin. If it involved sin, he was the furthest of people from it. And by Allah, he never took revenge for himself regarding anything done to him, ever, until the sanctities of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, were violated, then he would take revenge for the sake of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic."
