Hadith 1153:196

Isma'il narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, he said: Sulayman ibn Musa informed me, from al-Zuhri, from 'Urwah, from 'Aishah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If a woman marries without the permission of her guardian, then her marriage is void, her marriage is void, her marriage is void. If he has consummated with her, then she is entitled to her dowry for what he has obtained from her. If they dispute, then the Sultan is the guardian of the one who has no guardian." Ibn Jurayj said: I met al-Zuhri and asked him about this hadith, but he did not recognize it. He said: "Sulayman ibn Musa was [a man of such and such]," and he praised him. 'Abdullah said: My father said: "The Sultan is the judge, because the matter of private parts and legal rulings belongs to him."
