Musnad Ahmad 1153:2012

Yazid narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Aziz ibn Abd Allah ibn Abi Salamah informed us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Abd Allah ibn Ayyash ibn Abi Rabiah, from Aisha, who said: We arrived in Medina, and it was a land of marshes and thorny trees. The family of Abu Bakr fell ill, so I asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, for permission to visit my father, and he gave me permission. I came to him and said: "O father, how do you find yourself?" He said: "Every man wakes up among his family, While death is closer than the strap of his sandal." I said: "By Allah, my father is delirious." Then I came to Amir ibn Fuhayrah and said: "O Amir, how do you find yourself?" He said: "I have found death before tasting it; Indeed, the coward’s doom is from above him." She said: Then I came to Bilal and said: "O Bilal, how do you find yourself?" He said: "Oh, would that I knew if I shall spend a night, In Fakh, with Idhkhir and Jalil grass around me." I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and informed him. He said: "O Allah, bless for us our sa' and bless for us our mudd, and make Medina beloved to us as You made Mecca beloved to us, and transfer its fever away from us to Khumm and Mahya'ah."
