Musnad Ahmad 1153:2022

Muhammad ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Dawud, from al-Sha‘bi, from Masruq, who said: I was with ‘Aishah, and I said: "Does Allah not say: {And he certainly saw him in the clear horizon} [At-Takwir: 23] and {And he certainly saw him another descent} [An-Najm: 13]?" She said: "I am the first of this nation who asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about them. He said: 'That is only Jibril. I did not see him in the form he was created in, except twice. I saw him descending from the sky to the earth, his immense size blocking what is between the sky and the earth.'"
