Rawh narrated to us, he said: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, from Bananah, the freedwoman of Abd al-Rahman ibn Hayyan al-Ansari, from Aisha, the Mother of the Believers, who said: While she was with her, a slave girl entered upon her wearing bells that were making sound. She said: "Do not let her enter upon me unless you cut off her bells." So they cut off her bells. Bananah asked her about that, and she said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: 'The angels do not enter a house in which there is a bell, and a company [of travelers] does not travel with a bell.'"
