'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Amr narrated to us, 'Ali ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Thumamah ibn Kullab, that Abu Salamah narrated to him, that 'Aishah narrated to him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Do not make nabidh (fermented drink) in gourds (al-duba'), nor in green glazed jars (al-hantam), nor in hollowed-out trunks (al-naqir), nor in pitch-coated vessels (al-muzaffat). And do not make nabidh from raisins and dates together, and do not make nabidh from unripe dates (al-busr) and ripe dates (al-rutab) together."
