Rawh narrated to us, Sa’id narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Abu Hassan al-A’raj, that two men entered upon ‘Aishah and said: "Indeed, Abu Hurairah narrates that the Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to say: 'Verily, bad omens are in the woman, the beast, and the house.'" She said: A part of her flew into the sky, and a part into the earth. She said: "By the One who revealed the Quran to Abu al-Qasim, he did not say it like that. Rather, the Prophet of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to say: 'The people of the Jahiliyyah used to say: Bad omens are in the woman, the house, and the beast.'" Then ‘Aishah recited: "No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register" [Al-Hadid: 22], until the end of the verse.
