Rawh narrated to us, Malik ibn Anas narrated to us, from Nafi’, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, from ‘Aishah, that she informed him that she bought a cushion containing images. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw it, he stood at the door and did not enter. She recognized the dislike on his face, so she said: "O Messenger of Allah, I repent to Allah and to His Messenger; what sin have I committed?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What is the matter with this cushion?" She said: "I bought it for you to sit upon and to use as a pillow." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, the companions of these images will be punished for them. It will be said to them: 'Give life to what you have created.'" And he said: "Indeed, the house in which there is an image, the angels do not enter it."
