'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, he said: Muhammad ibn Jahadah narrated to us, from al-Hakam, from Ibrahim, from al-Aswad, from 'Aishah, she said: "We used to garland the sheep and send them [to the Ka'bah], while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in a state of *halal* (not in the state of ihram), and he did not refrain from anything [that is permitted for a person in a state of *halal*]."
