Musnad Ahmad 1153:211

Yahya narrated to us, from Talha ibn Yahya, who said: Aisha bint Talha narrated to me, from Aisha, the Mother of the Believers, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would come to her while he was fasting and say: "Is there anything with you that I may eat?" She would say: "No, there is nothing with us." He would say: "Then I am fasting." Then he came to her after that, and she said: "A gift was presented to us, and we have hidden it for you." He said: "What is it?" She said: "Hays (a dish made of dates, ghee, and dried yogurt)." He said: "I had begun the day fasting," then he ate.
