Musnad Ahmad 1153:2192

Wahb ibn Jarir narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Asim, the freed slave of Quraibah, from Quraibah bint Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr, from 'Aishah: "That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade *al-wisal* (fasting continuously for days without breaking the fast)." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, but you practice *al-wisal*?" He said: "I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me to drink."
