Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far ibn al-Zubayr narrated to me, who said: 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr narrated to 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz while he was the governor of Medina, from 'Aishah, the wife of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: "That the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to pray facing her while she was lying across in front of him." Abu Umamah ibn Sahl, who was with 'Umar, said: "Perhaps, O Abu 'Abd Allah, she said: 'And I was at his side'?" 'Urwah said: "I inform you with certainty, and you refute me with conjecture? Rather, 'lying across in front of him like the lying of a funeral.'"
