Musnad of the truthful one, Aisha bint al-Siddiq (RA)

مسند الصديقة عائشة بنت الصديق رضي الله عنها

Hadith 1153:47

'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from 'Urwah, from 'Aishah: "The Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to abandon a deed while he loved to perform it, out of dislike that people might follow him in it, so it would become obligatory upon them. And he used to love what was made light for them regarding the obligatory acts."

حدثنا عبد الأعلى، عن معمر، عن الزهري، عن عروة، عن عائشة، " أن نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يترك العمل وهو يحب أن يعمله، كراهية أن يستن الناس به، فيفرض عليهم، وكان يحب ما خفف عليهم من الفرائض "
