Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us, 'Utbah—meaning Ibn Damrah ibn Habib—narrated to us, he said: 'Abdullah ibn Abi Qays, the freed slave of Ghutayf, narrated to me that he came to 'Aishah, the Mother of the Believers, and greeted her. She said: "Who is the man?" He said: "I am 'Abdullah, the freed slave of Ghutayf ibn 'Azib." She said: "The son of 'Afif?" He said: "Yes, O Mother of the Believers." He asked her about the two rak'ahs after the afternoon prayer (Asr); did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, pray them? She said to him: "Yes." He asked her about the offspring of the disbelievers. She said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "They are with their fathers." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, without [any] deeds?" He said: "Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, knows best what they would have been doing."
