Abu Sa’id narrated to us, ‘Abdullah bin Ja’far and al-Khuza’i narrated to us, he said: ‘Abdullah bin Ja’far informed us, he said: Umm Bakr bint al-Miswar narrated to us. Al-Khuza’i said: From Umm Bakr bint al-Miswar, that ‘Abd al-Rahman bin ‘Awf sold land of his to ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan for forty thousand dinars, and he distributed it among the poor of Banu Zuhrah, and among the Emigrants (Muhajirun), and the Mothers of the Believers. Al-Miswar said: So I brought ‘Aishah her share, and she said: "Who sent this?" I said: "‘Abd al-Rahman." She said: "As for me, I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say"—and al-Khuza’i said: "That the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said"—: "None shall be kind to you after me, except the patient ones." May Allah give ‘Abd al-Rahman bin ‘Awf to drink from the Salsabil of Paradise.
