Musnad Ahmad 1153:751

Surayj narrated to us, he said: Ibn Abi al-Zinad narrated to us, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Aisha, that she said: "O son of my sister, the hair of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was above the *wafrah* (hair reaching the earlobes) and below the *jummah* (hair reaching the shoulders). And by Allah, O son of my sister, a month would pass over the family of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, without a fire being kindled in the house of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, except for the *luhaym* (small amount of meat). And it was nothing but the two black ones: water and dates. Except that we had neighbors among the Ansar—may Allah reward them with good, in the recent and the ancient times—who would send to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, from the milk of their sheep. So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, would partake of that milk. And the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, passed away while there was nothing on my shelf of food that a living being could eat, except for about half a measure of barley. So I ate from it until a long time passed for me and it did not run out. Then I measured it, and it ran out. I wish I had not measured it. And by Allah, his bedding was of tanned leather stuffed with palm fibers." Al-Hashimi said: "From the milk of their sheep," and he mentioned the like of it, except for "his bedding."
