Musnad Ahmad 1153:858

Ali ibn Ishaq narrated to us, he said: Abdullah informed us, he said: Ibn Lahi'ah informed us, from al-Harith ibn Yazid, from Ziyad ibn Nu'aym al-Hadrami, from Muslim ibn Mikhraq, he said: I said to Aisha: "O Mother of the Believers, there are people who recite the Quran twice or three times in a single night." She said: "Those have recited, yet they have not recited. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would stand for the entire night, and he would recite Surah al-Baqarah, Surah Ali 'Imran, and Surah an-Nisa. He would not pass by a verse containing glad tidings except that he would supplicate to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and desire [His bounty], and he would not pass by a verse containing a warning except that he would supplicate to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and seek refuge."
