'Affan narrated to us, he said: 'Abd al-Wahid ibn Ziyad narrated to us, he said: al-Hajjaj ibn Artah narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from 'Aishah. He said: And Makhul narrated it to me. Both of them said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whatever is made lawful by it regarding the private part of a woman, from a dowry or a gift, it is for her. And whatever her father, or her brother, or her guardian honors her with after the marriage contract, it is for him. And the most deserving of what a man honors his daughter or his sister with [is that which he gives to her]."
