Musnad of the truthful one, Aisha bint al-Siddiq (RA)

Hadith 1153:928
Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, he said: Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Khumayr, he said: I heard ‘Abdullah ibn Abi Musa, he said: Mudrik, or the son of Mudrik, sent me to ‘Aishah to ask her about some things. He said: So I came to her, and she was praying the Duha prayer. I said: I will sit until she finishes. They said: Far from it [i.e., that will take a long time]. I said: How should I seek permission to enter upon her? They said: Say: "Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings; peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah; peace be upon the Mothers of the Believers, or the wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace; peace be upon you." He said: So I entered upon her and asked her. She said: "The brother of ‘Azib, yes, the people of the house." I asked her about fasting continuously [without breaking the fast at night]. She said: "When the day of Uhud came, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and his companions fasted continuously, and it was difficult for them. When they saw the crescent moon, they informed the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he said: 'If it had lasted longer, I would have continued.' It was said to him: 'You do that,' or something similar. He said: 'I am not like you; I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me drink.'" I asked her about the two rak‘ahs after the ‘Asr prayer. She said: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sent a man to collect charity." She said: "He came to him at the time of Dhuhr, and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed Dhuhr, and he was occupied with its distribution until he prayed ‘Asr, then he prayed them [the two rak‘ahs]." She said: "You must perform the night prayer, for the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, would not abandon it. If he was ill, he would recite while sitting." And I have known that one of you says: "It is sufficient for me to stand for what has been prescribed for me," but how could that be for him? I asked her about the day in which there is a difference of opinion regarding Ramadan [the day of doubt]. She said: "For me to fast a day from Sha‘ban is more beloved to me than to break the fast of a day from Ramadan." He said: So I went out and asked Ibn ‘Umar and Abu Hurayrah, and each of them said: "The wives of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, are more knowledgeable about that than we are." I heard my father say: "Yazid ibn Khumayr is sound in hadith." My father said: "‘Abdullah ibn Abi Musa is a mistake that Shu‘bah made; he is ‘Abdullah ibn Abi Qays."
