Rawh narrated to us, he said: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, he said: Ibn Shihab informed me, from ‘Urwah, from ‘Aishah, that she said: Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqas and ‘Abd ibn Zam‘ah disputed before the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). Sa‘d said: "O Messenger of Allah, the son of my brother, ‘Utbah ibn Abi Waqqas, he entrusted to me that he is his son; look at his resemblance." And ‘Abd ibn Zam‘ah said: "This is my brother, O Messenger of Allah, born on the bed of my father." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) looked at his resemblance and saw a clear resemblance to ‘Utbah. He said: "He is for you, O ‘Abd ibn Zam‘ah. The child is for the bed, and for the adulterer is the stone. And veil yourself from him, O Sawdah bint Zam‘ah." She said: So she never saw him again.
