Hadith 2:104

Yahya narrated to us, from Shu'bah, who said: Salamah ibn Kuhayl narrated to me, he said: I heard Abu al-Hakam, he said: I asked Ibn Abbas about the *nabidh* (fermented drink) of the clay jar. He said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade the *nabidh* of the clay jar and the gourd. And he said: 'Whoever is pleased to forbid what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, let him forbid *nabidh*.'" He said: And I asked Ibn al-Zubayr, and he said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade the gourd and the clay jar." He said: And I asked Ibn Umar, and he narrated from Umar that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade the gourd and the pitch-coated vessel. He said: And my brother narrated to me, from Abu Sa'id, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade the clay jar, the gourd, the pitch-coated vessel, the unripe dates, and the dried dates.
