Hadith 2:146

Hushaym narrated to us, Sayyar informed me, from Abu Wa’il: A man who was a Christian, called al-Sabi ibn Ma’bad, accepted Islam. He wanted to perform Jihad, so it was said to him: "Begin with Hajj." He came to al-Ash’ari, who ordered him to enter into the state of Ihram for both ‘Umrah and Hajj together, and he did so. While he was reciting the Talbiyah, he passed by Zayd ibn Suhan and Salman ibn Rabi’ah. One of them said to his companion: "This one is more misguided than the camel of its owner." Al-Sabi heard it, and that weighed heavily upon him. When he arrived, he came to ‘Umar and mentioned that to him. ‘Umar said to him: "You have been guided to the Sunnah of your Prophet." He said: And I heard him another time saying: "You have been granted success in the Sunnah of your Prophet."
