Musnad Ahmad 2:15

Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, as Nafi', his freed slave, narrated to me from him, he said: 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar used to say: "If a man has only one garment, let him wrap it around his waist, then let him pray. For I heard 'Umar ibn al-Khattab saying that, and he would say: 'Do not wrap yourselves in the garment if it is the only one, as the Jews do.'" Nafi' said: "And if I were to tell you that he attributed that to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, I would hope that I would not be lying."
