Musnad Ahmad 2:30

Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr ibn Nufayr narrated to us, from al-Harith ibn Mu'awiyah al-Kindi, that he rode to Umar ibn al-Khattab to ask him about three matters. He said: So he arrived in Medina, and Umar asked him: "What brought you?" He said: "To ask you about three matters." He said: "And what are they?" He said: "Sometimes I and my wife are in a narrow structure, and the prayer time arrives. If I and she pray, she is beside me, and if she prays behind me, I go out of the structure." Umar said: "Screen between yourself and her with a garment, then pray beside her if you wish." And regarding the two rak'ahs after the afternoon prayer (Asr), he said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade me from them." He said: "And regarding storytelling (al-qasas), for they wanted me to tell stories." He said: "As you wish," as if he disliked forbidding him. He said: "I only wanted to reach your opinion." He said: "I fear for you that you will tell stories and then feel superior to them in yourself, then you will tell stories and feel superior, until it is imagined to you that you are above them at the status of the Pleiades, so Allah will place you under their feet on the Day of Resurrection in proportion to that."
