Hadith 2:88

Sufyan narrated to us, from ‘Abdah ibn Abi Lubabah, from Abu Wa’il, who said: Al-Subay’ ibn Ma’bad said: I was a Christian man, then I accepted Islam. I entered into the state of Ihram for both Hajj and ‘Umrah. Zayd ibn Suhan and Salman ibn Rabi’ah heard me while I was pronouncing the Talbiyah for both of them, and they said: "This man is more misguided than the owner of a lost camel." It was as if a mountain had been placed upon me by their words. So I came to ‘Umar and informed him. He turned to them and rebuked them, then he turned to me and said: "You have been guided to the Sunnah of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace; you have been guided to the Sunnah of your Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." ‘Abdah said: Abu Wa’il said: I and Masruq often went to Al-Subay’ to ask him about it.
