And the Narrations of Uthman ibn Affan (RA)
ومن أخبار عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه
Hadith 4:7
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Salim Abu Jami' narrated to us. Al-Hasan narrated to us, and he mentioned Uthman and the intensity of his modesty. He said: He would be in the house with the door closed upon him, yet he would not remove his garment to pour water over himself, for modesty prevented him from straightening his back.
حدثنا عبد الصمد، حدثنا سالم أبو جميع حدثنا الحسن، وذكر عثمان وشدة حيائه، فقال: إن كان ليكون في البيت والباب عليه مغلق، فما يضع عنه الثوب ليفيض عليه الماء، يمنعه الحياء أن يقيم صلبه .
