Musnad Ahmad 3:42

'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Harith ibn al-Sa'ib narrated to us, he said: I heard al-Hasan saying: Humran narrated to me: From 'Uthman ibn 'Affan, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Everything other than the shade of a house, a crust of bread, a garment to cover his nakedness, and water—whatever is in excess of this, the son of Adam has no right to it."
