Musnad Ahmad 3:45

Abu Sa’id—meaning the freed slave of Banu Hashim—narrated to us, ‘Ikrimah ibn Ibrahim al-Bahili narrated to us, ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Dhubab narrated to us, from his father: That ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan prayed four rak’ahs at Mina, and the people disapproved of it for him. He said: "O people, I have taken a wife in Makkah since I arrived, and I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: 'Whoever takes a wife in a land, let him pray the prayer of a resident.'"
