Tafsir
Verse range: 10:8
"For those" — meaning those described with what was mentioned — "their abode," i.e., their dwelling and the place of settlement from which they have no departure, "is the Fire" — not the worldly life and its luxuries in which they found tranquility — "because of what they used to earn," which refers to the enumerated acts of the heart and the sins that follow them, or what that [disbelief] earns for them. The combination of the past and present tense forms is to indicate continuity. The "ba" (in "bima") relates to what the final sentence, which serves as the predicate for the demonstrative pronoun, points to; Abu al-Baqa’ estimated it as "they deserved [it]." The sentence "those... their abode is the Fire" is the predicate of "inna" (truly/verily) in His saying: [the verse].
