Surah Yunus 10:85

ﲓ ﲔ ﲕ ﲖ ﲗ ﲘ ﲙ ﲚ ﲛ ﲜ

So they said, "Upon Allah do we rely. Our Lord, make us not [objects of] trial for the wrongdoing people

Tafsir

So they said, (answering him, peace be upon him, without hesitation or swallowing of saliva in that regard): "Upon Allah we have relied" (not upon anyone else, glory be to Him. From this restriction and the expression in the past tense rather than 'we rely' [present tense], it is understood that they were sincere believers. It is said: And for this reason, their supplication was answered: "Our Lord, do not make us a trial for the wrongdoing people" (meaning: a place of trial and punishment for them, in that You empower them over us so that they punish us, or they tempt us away from our religion, or they are tempted by us and say: 'If these people were upon the truth, they would not have been afflicted').
