(And the mountains will be like al-‘ihn) meaning wool, generally, or dyed wool, as al-Raghib qualified it. The discussion regarding this has preceded in [the commentary on] al-Ma’arij. It signifies "becoming," meaning that all the mountains will become like al-‘ihn (the manfush)—that which is teased apart by fingers or similar means, referring to the separation of its parts and their scattering in the atmosphere, as stated by more than one verse.
