Tafsir
Verse range: 11:33
He said, "Indeed, Allah will bring it to you if He wills." This means: That matter is not up to me, nor is it within the scope of my ability; rather, it belongs to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, whom you have disbelieved in and whose command you have disobeyed. He will bring it to you, sooner or later, if His will—which is subordinate to wisdom—is attached to it. In this, as it has been said, there is that which is not hidden regarding the intimidation of what is promised; it is as if it were said: "The bringing of it is a matter outside the sphere of human powers, and only Allah, the Exalted, performs it." The mention of the Majestic Name [Allah] that gathers [all attributes of perfection] is an emphasis of that intimidation.
"And you will not cause failure," meaning: You will not render Him, the Glorified and Exalted, unable to act by repelling the punishment or fleeing from it. The letter ba is extra for emphasis, and the nominal sentence denotes continuity. The intended meaning is the continuity and emphasis of the negation, not the negation of the continuity and emphasis, and it has parallels.
