Tafsir of Al-Hijr 15:61

(So when the messengers came to the family of Lot)

This is a commencement to clarify the destruction of the criminals and the removal of the family of Lot. The explicit noun [the family of Lot] is placed in the position of the pronoun to indicate that their arrival was for the purpose of realizing that for which they were sent. The intent is not the beginning of their arrival, but rather their absolute presence with the family of Lot, for that which he—peace be upon him—narrated concerning them, in the words of the Exalted:
