And mention in the Book Idris

He is a prophet who came before Nuh (Noah), and according to what is in al-Mustadrak from Ibn Abbas, there were one thousand years between them. He is Enoch, son of Jared, son of Mahalalel, son of Kenan, son of Enos, son of Seth, son of Adam, peace be upon them. It is reported from Wahb ibn Munabbih that he was the grandfather of Nuh, peace be upon him, while the well-known opinion is that he was his great-grandfather; for Nuh is the son of Lamech, son of Methuselah, son of Enoch.

He was the first to study the stars and calculation, and Allah the Exalted made that one of his miracles, according to what is mentioned in al-Bahr. He was the first to write with a pen, to sew garments, and to wear stitched clothing, as he was a tailor; before him, they used to wear skins. He was the first messenger sent after Adam, and Allah the Exalted revealed thirty scrolls to him. He was the first to institute scales, measures, and weapons, and he fought the children of Cain.

It is reported from Ibn Mas’ud that he is Elijah, sent to his people to say "There is no god but Allah" and to act as they wished, but they refused and were destroyed. The first opinion is the relied-upon one, even though the statement that he is Elijah is narrated by Ibn Abi Hatim with a sound chain of transmission from Ibn Mas’ud.

The name [Idris] is Syriac according to the majority, and it is not derived from al-dars (studying/teaching), because derivation from a non-Arabic source is something no one has maintained. Its being Arabic and derived from that is rejected by the fact that it is diptote (non-fully declinable). Yes, it is not far-fetched that its meaning in that [Syriac] language is close to that [meaning], so he was given the title due to his frequent study.

"Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet."

This is as previously stated.
