Tafsir
Verse range: 22:66
(And He is the one who gave you life) after you were inanimate matter, elements, and drops of fluid, just as was detailed at the beginning of this noble Surah. (Then He will cause you to die) when your appointed times arrive. (Then He will bring you to life) at the time of Resurrection. (Indeed, mankind is ungrateful), meaning denying of blessings despite their manifestation. This is a description of the entire genus by the traits of some of its individuals. It is said that what is meant by "mankind" is the disbeliever. This has been narrated from Ibn Abbas and Mujahid. It is also narrated from Ibn Abbas that he said: "It is al-Aswad ibn Abd al-Asad, Abu Jahl, and Ubayy ibn Khalaf," and perhaps this is by way of exemplification.
