Surah Al-Mu'minoon 23:48



ﱹ ﱺ ﱻ ﱼ

So they denied them and were of those destroyed.

{فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا مِنَ الْمُهْلَكِينَ}

(فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا): They persisted in denying them, insisted upon it, and showed great arrogance.

(فَكَانُوا مِنَ الْمُهْلَكِينَ): By drowning in the Sea of Qulzum (the Red Sea). The use of the connective particle fa (then/consequently) is with regard to the final stage of the denial upon which they continued.

It is also said: The connection of the denial to this outcome is based on the meaning that they were judged to be among those destined for destruction.

It is also said: The particle fa is for pure causality; meaning, they became among the destroyed ones as a direct result of denying the two messengers.
