Surah Al-Mu'minoon 23:58



ﳑ ﳒ ﳓ ﳔ ﳕ

And they who believe in the signs of their Lord

58. And those who, with the signs of their Lord—both those sent down [the revelations] and those established in the horizons [the universe] and within themselves—are [believers].

The ba (in bi-ayati) indicates accompaniment, and it relates to His saying, the Exalted: "believe."

Meaning: They affirm them, and what is intended is affirmation of their signified meaning; for there is no praise in merely affirming their existence.

The use of the present tense verb instead of the noun [participle] serves to indicate that whenever they encounter a sign, they believe in it and affirm its signified meaning.
