Surah An-Nur 24:8

ﲹ ﲺ ﲻ ﲼ ﲽ ﲾ ﲿ ﳀ ﳁ ﳂ ﳃ

But it will prevent punishment from her if she gives four testimonies [swearing] by Allah that indeed, he is of the liars.

And it averts from her the punishment—that is, it pushes away from her the punishment, which is the worldly punishment; and it is imprisonment according to us, and the legal penalty (Hadd) according to Al-Shafi'i, and the verification of the discussion regarding this will come, God willing—that she bears witness with four testimonies by God that he—that is, the husband—is indeed of the liars in what he accused her of regarding adultery.
