Tafsir of Ash-Shu`ara' 26:174-176

"Indeed, in that is a sign, yet most of them were not to be believers. And indeed, your Lord is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. The companions of the thicket (al-Ayka) denied the messengers."

Al-Ayka is the dense forest that grows soft trees. It is a thicket stretching from the seacoast toward Madyan. A group of people inhabited it, and they were among those to whom Shu'ayb, peace be upon him, was sent, even though he was a foreigner to them. For this reason, it was said:
