Tafsir of Ash-Shu`ara' 26:193

"The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down."

(He brought it down) — meaning: He caused it to descend, assuming the ba (in bihi) is for transitiveness.

Abu Hayyan and Ibn Atiyyah said: It is for accompaniment, and the prepositional phrase is in the position of a state (hal), as in the saying of the Exalted: "And they entered with disbelief," meaning: He brought it down while accompanied by it.

(The Trustworthy Spirit) — meaning Gabriel, peace be upon him. He expressed him as the "Spirit" because he brings creation to life through him in matters of religion, or because he is entirely spirit, unlike humans who possess a spirit within their bodies. He, peace be upon him, is described as "Trustworthy" because he is the trustee of the revelation of the Exalted, delivering it to whom He wills among His servants, may His Majesty be exalted, without any change or distortion whatsoever.

Hamzah, Al-Kisa'i, Abu Bakr, and Ibn Amir recited: (Nazzala bihi ar-Ruhu al-Amin) with a shaddah on the zay and an accusative case for (ar-Ruhu and al-Amin), meaning: Allah, the Exalted, made the Trustworthy Spirit descend with it.
