Surah Al-Qasas 28:33

ﲦ ﲧ ﲨ ﲩ ﲪ ﲫ ﲬ ﲭ ﲮ

He said, "My Lord, indeed, I killed from among them someone, and I fear they will kill me.

(He said, "My Lord, indeed I killed a person from among them, so I fear—for that reason—that they will kill me in retaliation for him.")

The intent behind this report is to request protection and support in order to convey the message in the most perfect manner, not to seek exemption from the mission. The Jews have claimed that he (peace be upon him) asked his Lord, Exalted is He, to be excused from it, and in the Torah which is in their hands today, it is stated that he said, "O Lord, send whom You will send." He emphasized the request for support by saying:
