Al-Qasas: (87) "And let them not avert you..."

(And let them not avert you), meaning the disbelievers, (from the verses of Allah), meaning their recitation and acting upon them, (after they have been revealed to you), meaning after the time of their revelation and inspiration to you, which necessitates your prophethood and your increased honor. Ya‘qub read it as yassudunnaka (with a light nun). It was also read as yussidunnaka, the present tense of asadda, meaning sadda (to avert). Abu Zayd narrated this from a man of the tribe of Kalb, who said: "It is the dialect of his people." The poet said: "People who averted the people with the sword from them, as the diverting of the irrigation channels from the noses of the thirsty."

(And invite) the people to your Lord, to His worship—Exalted and Majestic is He—and to His monotheism—Glorified is He—(and do not ever be of the polytheists) by supporting them.
