Al-Ankabut: (43) "And these examples We present to the people..."

"And these examples"—meaning this parable and its analogues among the parables mentioned in the Noble Book—"We present to the people"—to bring what is distant near to their understanding. "And none will understand them"—in their true state of excellence and the benefits that follow from them—"except those of knowledge"—the firmly rooted in knowledge, those who contemplate things as they truly should be contemplated.

Muhyi al-Sunnah narrated with his chain of transmission from Jabir that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse, "And these examples..." and said: "The learned man is he who understands from Allah, the Exalted, acts in obedience to Him, and avoids His displeasure."
